✦WHAT IS RF MICRONEEDLING?✦
Radiofrequency microneedling is a cosmetic procedure. It uses a fine needle to create micro wounds, or channels in the skin. This triggers the production of capillaries, elastin, and collagen.
The treatment is a form of controlled skin injury. The damage stimulates the growth of healthy new skin, which can benefit common skin issues like acne scars and wrinkles.
If the procedure also uses radiofrequency waves, it's called radiofrequency microneedling. The needles releases radiofrequency into the channels, causing additional damage.
✦WHAT DOES RF MICRONEEDLING TARGET?✦
The skin grows back thicker and smoother. This can target:
- Fine lines
- Droopy eyes
- Wrinkles
- Neck skin tightening
- Arm skin tightening
- Stretch marks
- Appearance of large pores
- Acne Scars
- Sun damaged skin
- Scars from injury or surgery
- Hyperpigmentation
- Loose, sagging skin
- Cellulite
- Hyperhidrosis
✦WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM RF MICRONEEDLING?✦
RF microneedle treatment is safe for all ages, genders, skin types, and tones, and can be performed on almost any area of the body with wrinkles, discoloration, or acne scarring. The ideal candidate for treatment is young, in relatively good health, and has early signs of aging.
✦WHAT ARE THE RISKS OF RF MICRONEEDLING?✦
While the procedure is generally considered very safe, there are some risk factors that make it inadvisable for some. People who suffer from skin infections, have a moderate to severe skin disease, or have an active breakout of cold sores should avoid the treatment.
Additionally, those who are pregnant, taking anticoagulants, receiving chemotherapy or radiation therapy, have a history of keloids, hypertrophic scarring, or poor wound healing should also refrain.
